The only reason I know military times is because I was a Navy brat, so there's that. (It's basically just minus 12 to get a more common time if it's after 12pm.)

gosh is it military times in America. We just use the 24 hour clock for shits and giggles over here pretty often!

That's the name I've always heard for it. I'm pretty sure more people than just the military probably use it, but I wouldn't know. I am hideously sheltered and under-cultured.
